Bills, responsibilities, important decisions to make, body changes, and parenting are just some of the reasons why I wouldnt mind hopping in a time machine and going back to being a child. Being a responsible adult requires a lot of added pressure. As preteens and teenagers we couldn't wait to be grown so our parents couldn't tell us what to do and so we didnt have to go to school. Now, I think most of us look back and think, "what the heck where we thinking wanting to grow up so quickly?"
In Matthew 18 Jesus tells his followers that being like a little child will help them get into heaven. Lets discuss 5 traits of a child that could help us in our daily lives. 1. Children are dependent on their parents- If we were constantly in comunication with God through prayer like we should be; we wouldn't be worried about things or doubt God. 2.Children are fearless- Fearlessness in a child means faith as an adult. How many times have we allowed fear and doubt keep us from moving forward with that business, keep us from moving to another state, or applying for that new position we know we don't have the experience for, but God said to apply? 3. Children love their parents- In a child's eyes their parents are their first heroes. If we showed this same type of love to God consistenly our worship would become more powerful. 4.Children have a fear of their parents- If we feared God like children fear their parents we would sin less often because we would not want to disappoint God and we would fear the consequences of our actions. We would become more obedient. 5.Children want to be just like their parents- Wouldn't it be awesome if we truly wanted to be like God? If everyday we strived to make a genuine effort to be like Christ. Instead of being like children playing in our parents shoes. What if we got out of bed and stepped into our Father's spiritual shoes so we could walk more like Him? xoxo, Krystale Jane'l
