"Friends...how many of us have them? Friends...the ones you can depend on..." There are very few memorable solo acts throughout history. Laverne had Shirley, Lucille had Ethel, The Rat Pack, Martha and Mary Magdalene, Burt had Ernie, The Ninja Turtles, Mork and Mindy, Jesus himself even had "The Disciple Whom He Loved", beside every great person is an even greater friend who bails them out of sticky situations, goes along for the ride, or is even the voice of reason that says, "Bitch, stop... do not go past go!"
These are the people that God specifically placed in your life to make you push a little harder, pray a little longer, and become a little stronger in times of adversity. These are the true friends, the people God allows to be with us but also stand beside Him. The person who maybe your complete opposite but you are both equally one in the same and the friend who is unapologetic about telling you the truth instead of sugar coating things. So my luvs, this post is just a reminder no matter what season you are going through in your life stay true to those who are true to you. True friendship is hard to find. Pray, Love, Encourage, and NEVER take for granted friendship, loyalty, and sisterhood. I'm Out. Act in Love, Walk in Faith...and Express Without Fear. xoxo, Krystale Jane'l

The Holidays are right around the corner. As we start to plan the Thanksgiving and Christmas menus, choose what lucky family member's home will host the festivities, and get ready to polish the good silver...we also must remember a few cardinal rules while we enjoy the 3 Fs:
Fun Family Food 5. No fruit Cake! Im not even sure why they still make these things, there are only about 5 people in the whole universe who eats them. Save the fruit cake and opt to bring another dessert over for your holiday meal. 4. Do not bring a date to the family dinner unless the relationship is serious Honestly, who wants to spend the rest of the year listening to grandma ask about your date unless he or she will be around for a long time. 3.If you are not grandma or the person designated to make the potato salad or dressing don't risk it! Nobody likes that awkward moment when someone has to ask, "Who made the dressing?" Furthermore, who has the time to try and out do grandma's homemade cornbread dressing just for bragging rights? It can be hit or miss, but it isn't worth the risk. 2. Do not let anybody who is on a first name basis with the liquor store clerk or owner make the holiday punch. If you know Aunt Tammy owns a personal flask don't let her make the punch unless it's for those who aren't light weights. Although seeing Grandma or your super religious cousin intoxicated maybe comical and quite entertaining; nothing is funny about having a hangover the next morning and missing Black Friday or the day after Christmas sales. 1.Do not get "The Itis" unless you are at close family member or friend's home. The holiday season is a time of year when we sometimes invite friends who may not have family over, or you may want to try something new and experience a new holiday tradition. After a large meal you may feel full and drowsy. This state of euphoric sleepiness has been called, "The Itis" by the majority of African Americans. This popular phrase was created because of the massive amount of well prepared soul food found in Black homes across America. Getting "The Itis" is okay if you are at home or at grandma's house, but if you are invited to someone's house the most embarrassing thing you can do is get caught snoring on someone's couch. If you feel "The Itis" excuse yourself and go home. Enjoy your time with your loved ones. XOXO, Krystale Jane'l Hello luvs! So I have decided that since my weight fluctuates so much especially during this time a year... I have come to the conclusion that I am bear. This is the worst time of year for me when it comes to eating healthy and counting my calories. The summertime I'm usually 15-30 pounds lighter than I am at this time of year. I'm sure some of you can relate. While trying on a pair of my favorite jeans I realized the dreaded calorie monster had once again crept up on me. My skinny jeans fit a little tighter and they make me feel not so skinny. Usually when this happens I go into panic mode, count calories and eliminate carbs, and pretty much work out like I'm competing for The Biggest Loser, but not this year. This year I have decided to reclaim my time and I'm also reclaiming less stress and more happiness...and I've come to the conclusion being cuddly makes me happy in the winter time. (My man doesn't mind a few extra pounds either...my booty is bigger.lol) Now does this mean I'm going to let myself go and trade in my skinny jeans for mom jeans and jogging pants...Heck no?! I'm the type of girl who appreciates fine cuisine and soul food...especially during the holidays. So I'm going to enjoy it without the stress of running to the gym, and trying to count how many calories are in my mom's pecan pie. I will practice portion control andI will continue exercising, but I WON'T stress about a few pounds. I look at it as being a bear- I store fat in the winter. I don't hibernate...but I do tend to sleep a little better when I gain a few pounds...and my husband does too.lol I'm just at the point in my life I am gong to eliminate unnecessary stress. My weight has always been stressful for me because I constantly go up and down the scale. There are things in your life you can control. You can control the amount of stress in your life. You don't have to be stressed out over things that you cannot control, but if you can control it...just look for the solution and get rid of the unnecessary stress. I analyzed myself and realize I can control my weight, I make the choice to eat and slack off working out and I love to eat this time of year. Instead of being blinded by the truth I decided to take ownership. I WILL BE A BEAR THIS HOLIDAY SEASON AND NOT WORRY ABOUT THE FEW EXTRA POUNDS I MAY GAIN. I will wear my size 10 or 12 with pride, I will not cause unnecessary anxiety on myself when I put on my Spanx. I love myself and I love Thanksgiving and Christmas meals. I know what I have to do, but right now from now until December 28th ...I'm choosing to be a cute and cuddly BEAR! XOXO, Krystale Jane'l |
